Abstract

This PPM activity was carried out with the aim of providing experiential knowledge and skills in writing Classroom Action Research (CAR) proposals for SMKN 3 Bengkulu City teachers, in particular, in an effort to improve the pedagogic and academic competences of subject teachers. This activity is carried out virtually (online). Activities planned for the end of December 2020 can take place virtually on Saturday, January 9, 2021, 16.00 to 18.00 WIB, which will be attended by 30 participants. The activity uses the training method through lectures, discussions, and practical assignments, with the presentation of material for writing a CAR proposal submitted by a resource person, a lecturer at the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, FKIP, University of Bengkulu. The activity is carried out in three stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage, and the results reporting. Based on the results of the activity, the training for writing CAR proposals for subject teachers at SMKN 3 Bengkulu City has provided good and meaningful experience of knowledge and skills as well as changes in attitudes or mindsets. This was evident from the participants who were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity stages, especially when they were given practical assignments in formulating the titles and problems of the CAR. Participants are able to formulate the initial part of the research problem, which includes the title CAR, problem formulation, research objectives, scope, ways of solving problems, and the benefits of research as well as definitions of terms related to the CAR topic. Until the end of the activity, the participants were very excited about the practice of writing CAR problems and stating their usefulness. However, due to time constraints, confirmation of the title formulation and research problems was continued online via WhatsApp. At the end of the activity, participants asked for further activities, specifically the theoretical study and research methodology section so that the proposal was ready to be implemented in class.
