UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENALAR SISWA MELALUI MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) PADA MATERI FOTOSINTESIS

Abstract


This study aims to describe the activities of teachers, student activities, and reasoning skills with Problem Based Learning Model (PBL) photosynthesis material of students of class VIII SMPN 15 city of Bengkulu. The type of this research is classroom action research with descriptive method. The study was conducted in two cycles, consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research is teachers and all students of class VIII.E SMPN 15 city of Bengkulu. The variables of this research are PBL model, teacher activity, student activity, and reasoning skills. Technique of collecting data of this research that is observation and test. The research instruments used were observation sheet and test sheet. The results of data analysis of teacher activity cycle I obtained the average score of 28 (Good) increased to 32 (Good) in cycle II. The result of data analysis of student activity in cycle I obtained the average score 28 (Good) increased to 32 (Good) in cycle II. The result of data analysis of students' reasoning skill in cycle I is 7,2 (Enough) and result of student's skill analysis analysis on cycle II have improvement with mean that is 10 (Good). From the research result, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can increase teacher activity and student activity and the students' reasoning skill of class VIII SMPN 15 city of Bengkulu.
