UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENALAR PESERTA DIDIK DENGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING

Abstract


This research aimed to describe teacher’s activity, students’ activity, and reasoning ability with Probelm Based Learning (PBL) model in excretion system  learning material at students of VIII.3 grade, SMPN 1 Bengkulu City. The study is classroom action research with descriptive method. This study consists of two cycles, every cycle consists of four steps which are planning, practicing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study are the teacher and all of students of  VIII.3 grade SMPN 1 Bengkulu City. Variables of this study are PBL model, teacher’s activity, students’ activity, and reasoning ability. Techniques of gathering data on this study are observation and test. The instruments of this study are teacher’s activity of sheet observation students, and test sheets. The result of teacher’s activity on cycle one is obtained average score 28 (Good), and the score of teacher’s activity in cycle two is 31,5 (Good). The result of students’ activity on the cylce one is 28,5 (Good), and the score of  students’ acitivity in cylce two is 32 (Good). Furthermore, the result analysis of reasoning ability of students in cylce one is 3,25 (Baik) and there is an increasing with mean of 3,52 (very good) based on students reasoning ability’s data. Based on the result of the study, it could be conclude that PBL model could improve teacher’s activity, students’ activity and students’ reasoning ability at VIII.3 grade of SMPN 1 Bengkulu City.
