Abstract


This study aims to determine : 1) the effect of didactic design on students 'conceptual comprehension abilities, 2) the effect of didactic design on student’s learning barriers and 3) the effect of learning barriers on students' ability to understand concepts in  State Junior High School of Maur. The type of research is quasy experiment, which is an experimental design with controls that are in accordance with existing conditions. The population of this study was all eighth grade students of Junior High School of Maur. The numbers of samples used in the experimental class were 28 people and in the control class were 29 people. In this study, class VIII.1 is an experimental class or class that is given the treatment of didactic design learning and students of class VIII.2 are control classes or classes that are given conventional learning treatment. From the results of the analysis it can be concluded that: 1) there is a significant effect of mathematics learning with didactic design on students' conceptual comprehension abilities, 2) there is a significant effect of mathematics learning with didactic design on student learning barriers and 3) there are effects of learning barriers to conceptual comprehension skills students. The results of this study need to recommend an alternative selection of appropriate learning approaches to improve the ability to understand concepts and reduce barriers to student learning that will be applied.
