Pelatihan interval intensitas tinggi dapat meningkatkan kebugaran, khususnya daya tahan kardiorespirasi karena diduga dapat meningkatkan konsumsi oksigen bagi tubuh. Tujuan : Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan interval intensitas tinggi terhadap daya tahan kardiorespirasi (VO2 max) mahasiswa tingkat I. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental, rancangan acak dengn tes awal dan akhir (Pre and Post Control Group Design). Sampel yang digunakan sejumlah 36 mahasiswa tingkat I Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Bengkulu, terdiri dari 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan (18 mahasiswa) dan kelompok kontrol (18 mahasiswa). Kelompok perlakuan mulai mendapatkan latihan fisik selama 4 minggu dengan intensitas 3 kali seminggu. Data yang diamati adalah data VO2 max sebelum dan sesudah mendapat perlakuan. Selanjutnya data hasil penelitian diolah secara statistik dengan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji t dengan p<0,05. Hasil : Data penelitian memperlihatkan didapatkan peningkatan bermakna VO2 max setelah dilakukan latihan interval intensitas tinggi selama 4 minggu.
