Social-emotional skills are a crucial aspect that must be developed from an early age, as they are directly related to a child's readiness to engage in social life and further learning. This community service activity aims to enhance the social-emotional abilities of early childhood students through the structured and continuous implementation of role-playing activities at KB Ceria Hati. The approach used refers to Kurt Lewin's Action Research model, which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection, conducted over two cycles. The subjects of this activity were 15 children aged 3–4 years. Data collection techniques included behavioral observation during the activities, anecdotal records to capture spontaneous responses, and interviews with teachers and parents to gather supporting information on observed changes.
The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in the children's social-emotional aspects, particularly in their ability to manage emotions, build positive social relationships, and demonstrate empathy and cooperation. In the pre-cycle phase, most children were in the "Not Yet Developed" category. However, following the intervention through engaging role-playing activities aligned with the children's interests, gradual improvement was observed, with several children reaching the "Very Well Developed" category by the second cycle.Role-playing activities proved to be a fun, effective, and meaningful learning method to stimulate social-emotional development in young children. This program also highlighted the importance of active teacher involvement and the use of learning methods tailored to the developmental characteristics of early childhood learners.
