Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study and understand the opinions of various important figures in sociology education who have opinions regarding the definition of sociology of education and schools within the sociology of education as well as the existence of gender equality in every aspect of life. The method used for this research involves qualitative literature study, where researchers collect and analyze information from various written sources such as scientific journals and books. Data collection techniques include: topic identification, literature search, evaluation and selection of sources, data collection from selected sources, and data analysis. The results of the research can be concluded as follows: 1) There are opinions of several sociological figures regarding the definition of sociology of education. 2) Several types of schools of sociology of education 3) understanding the meaning gender equality. Conclusions from this research: Studying important figures and schools in sociology, and their relationship to gender equality, provides a comprehensive understanding of how society is formed and operates, including the inequalities that occur within it. Sociology, as a science that studies social interactions and societal structures, does not only discuss abstract theories, but also provides a framework for analyzing and encouraging more equitable social change.
