KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS KUPU KUPU (LEPIDOPTERA : RHOPALOCERA) DI KAWASAN HUTAN LINDUNG BUKIT GATAN KABUPATEN MUSI RAWAS PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Abstract
This study aims to determine the diversity index of butterfly species in Bukit Gatan, STL Ulu Terawas District, Musi Rawas Regency. This study uses roaming method. Catch using direct sweeping, identification by observing the morphological characteristics of the butterfly. Based on the research, data were obtained from 287 individuals where the butterflies found on Gatan Hill were 23 species of butterflies belonging to 3 families namely: Nymphalidae, Papilionidae and Pieridae. The butterfly species of the Nymphalidae family that have been collected are Elymnias hypermnestra, Junonia atlites, Junonia almana, Tirumala septentrionis, Ideopsis juventa, Euploea crameri, Euploea algea, Euploea unica, Danaus genutia, Chersonesia rahria, Neptis nata, Hypolimnas bolina, Thaumantis klugius and Cupha erymanthis. The butterfly species of the Papilionidae family that have been collected are Pachliopta antiphus, Papilio demoleus, Troides helena, Graphium sarpedon and Papilio polytes. The butterfly species from the Pieridae family that have been collected are Eurema simulatrix, Eurema hecabe, Leptosia nina and Catopsilia scyla l. The lowest species composition was Chersonnesia rahria, while the highest was Pachliopta antiphus. In conclusion, out of 23 species there is 1 protected species, namely Troides Helena according to the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation number 20 of 2018 concerning protected wild plant and animal species, also listed in Appendix II of CITES. While the types of butterflies that are often found are Pachliopta antiphus, Tirumala septentrionis and Euploea unica. The few types of Ideopsis juventa, Chersonesia rahria and Cupha erymanthis were found at the observation sites.
