Abstract
Agroforestry can be the answer to the need to utilize land in a more productive way while fulfilling the needs of people's lives. Through the application of agroforestry, it can create a sustainable agricultural system, increase soil fertility, maintain biodiversity, provide protection for plants from extreme weather, and provide economic benefits for farmers (ATjatjo et al., (2015)). This study used a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of abundant types of forestry, agricultural, and plantation plants. Based on the results of the study, it was found that in Batu Ampar Village, Merigi District, Kepahiang there were 16 types of forestry plants, 13 types of agricultural plants, 9 types of plantation plants. The diversity index of plant species is in the moderate category, namely there are 31 types of individual plants divided into tree level of 15 types of individual plants, pole level of 8 types of individual plants, sapling level of 2 types of individual plants, and seedling level of 6 types of individual plants and the highest level of diversity of forestry plant species is dominated by Robusta Coffee (Coffea canephora), Areca Nut (Areca catechu L.) and Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) Furthermore, for the highest level of diversity of agricultural plant species, it is dominated by Banana (Musa spp.), Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum frustescens L.), and Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) plants, while at the level of diversity of plantation plant species, it is dominated by Gamal (Gliricidia sepium), Black Pepper (Piper nigrum L.), and Robusta Coffee (Coffea canephora) followed by Areca Nut (Areca catechu L.).
