Abstract
Latar belakang: Pada kasus pasca operasi, nyeri menyebabkan perubahan mendasar pada metabolisme. Opioid sering digunakan sebagai obat anti nyeri yang kuat, akan tetapi karena efek sampingnya yaitu dependensi yang cukup berbahaya maka diperlukan alternatif analgesik nonopioid untuk menghilangkan rasa sakit dan mengurangi penggunaan opioid. Parasetamol yang biasanya digunakan sebagai obat antipiretik, juga dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti atau pelengkap obat untuk mengendalikan rasa sakit pasca operasi. Parasetamol bekerja dengan cara menekan sintesis prostaglandin yang terutama dipengaruhi oleh hambatan pada siklus enzim Siklooksigenase.
Metode: Pencarian jurnal melalui data base literatur kedokteran dan kesehatan yaitu PubMed pada tanggal 10 Juni 2020. Kata kunci yang digunakan yaitu parasetamol (acetaminophen) intravena, efek analgesik, post-operasi dan dewasa. Jurnal yang digunakan adalah jurnal dari tahun 2015 sampai 2020.
Hasil: Dari 4 jurnal jenis randomized controlled trial (RCT) yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi terdapat total 614 pasien dengan 306 pasien kelompok yang diberi parasetamol intravena, 40 pasien kelompok pembanding yang diberi ibuprofen intravena dan 268 adalah pembanding yang menggunakan placebo. Hasil menunjukan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna pada skor nyeri kelompok parasetamol dan placebo pada pasien post-operasi dan 2 jam setelah operasi.
Kesimpulan: Pemberian parasetamol intravena terbukti lebih baik dalam menurunkan intensitas nyeri.
