Abstract
This study intends to explore the teacher's role as an inspirer in fostering environmentally conscious
behaviors among VC class students at Elementary School 5 in Bengkulu City. This investigation falls
into the category of qualitative research utilizing descriptive methodologies. The participants of this
study included both teachers and students, specifically the teachers of VC class and the students from
VC class at Elementary School 5 in Bengkulu City. Data was gathered through observation and
interviews. The analysis of data was performed by condensing information, presenting findings, and
drawing conclusions. To ensure data credibility, techniques such as source triangulation, technical
triangulation, and member checking were employed. The findings reveal the teacher's function as a
motivator in cultivating a sense of environmental responsibility in VC class students at Elementary
School 5 in Bengkulu City. Teachers encourage students by clarifying intended outcomes, fostering both
competition and collaboration, providing accolades, and administering consequences to students who do
not refrain from defacing property, failing to dispose of waste properly, neglecting to clean the school
environment, enhancing classroom and school aesthetics, and participating in the upkeep of the garden
and plants in the schoolyard. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that teachers, in their capacity
as motivators, effectively encourage students to develop a commitment to environmental stewardship
through indicators such as clarifying objectives, promoting competition and cooperation, giving
recognition, and imposing penalties.
