Abstract

            Wilayah Arabian Sea Mini Warm Pool (ASMWP) merupakan wilayah yang terletak di tenggara Laut Arab dimana pada pre-summer monsoon SPL sangat hangat melebihi 30oC. ASMWP diketahui memiliki pengaruh terhadap Indian summer monsoon di Asia namun pengaruhnya terhadap parameter lain perlu diinvestigasi. Pada studi ini akan dibahas pengaruh Indian Summer Monsoon terhadap Ocean Heat Content(OHC) di ASMWP dan Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall (ISMR) di India serta hubungan OHC dan Net Heat Flux (NHF) terhadap ISMR pada periode 1955-2006. Indian Summer Monsoon Index (ISMI) diperoleh dari selisih antara anomaly kecepatan angin zonal pada tekanan 850 mb (U850) di 40-80BT, 5-15LU dengan 70-90BT, 20-30LU. Untuk menghitung OHC digunakan integrasi vertikal suhu dari kedalaman 0 – 700 meter. Awal periode didominasi nilai ISMI positif dan pada akhir 2000an hingga 2010an pola ISMI berubah menjadi negatif. Hubungan antara ISMI dengan ISMR menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif pada semua periode pengamatan, namun hubungan ini melemah pada periode 1995-2004. Pada periode 1995-2004 selain ISMI, OHC700 dan NHF, ada faktor lain yang lebih berpengaruh terhadap ISMR. Hubungan antara OHC700 di ASMWP dengan ISMR menunjukkan bahwa penurunan OHC700 pada periode pengamatan akan terjadi penurunan ISMR. Penguatan konveksi di ASMWP mengakibatkan pergeseran konveksi dari daratan India ke selatan yang mengakibatkan pelemahan jet stream timuran tropis sehingga ISMR menurun.
