Abstract
Glodok fish (mudskipper) is a fish that lives in intertidal areas. This fish has characteristics like amphibians, which can walk on mud and climb mangrove roots. Information about glodok fish in Indonesia is still relatively little. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of glodok fish (mudskipper) in the mangrove forests of Ujung Pangka District, Gresik Regency. This research was conducted from February 2019 to March 2019. The data collection method was purposive sampling. There are three data collection points, namely beaches, mangrove forests and rivers. Glodok fish identification refers to the book Saanin, H (1968). Based on the research results obtained 4 types of glodok fish, namely Baleophtalamus boddarti, Baleophtalamus pectinirostris, Periphtalamus chyrospilos, Pherithalmodon schosseri. The average diversity of glodok fish in low tide conditions is 1.4 ind / m2 in coastal areas, 1.48 ind / m2 in mangrove areas and 1.58 ind / m2 in river areas. The average diversity of glodok fish in high tide conditions is 0.98 ind / m2 in the river area. Based on Importance Value Index (INP), the periphtalamus chyrospilos dominates in coastal areas. Pherithalmodon schosseri dominates in mangrove forest areas. Baleophtalamus boddarti dominates in river areas. Glodok fish diversity in the end of pangka mangrove forest is included in the medium category. The preservation of mangrove forests is needed to maintain the diversity of animals in the area.
