Studi Peran Kontes Burung dan Persepsi Pemelihara Terhadap Program Konservasi Plasma Nutfah Murai Batu (Copshycus Malabaricus) di Kota Bengkulu

Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran kontes burung dan persepsi pemelihara terhadap program konservasi plasma nutfah murai batu (Copsychus malabaricus) di Kota Bengkulu. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan (field research) dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan persentase. Data diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, kuisioner, dan observasi terhadap peserta kontes burung murai batu. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 20 orang peserta kontes burung murai batu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Kontes burung murai batu dalam program konservasi plasma nutfah murai batu (Copsychus malabaricus) memiliki peranan yang baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari dampak kontes burungdimana memelihara burung murai batu berimplikasi pada kelestarian burung tersebut. Masyarakat menilai melalui kontes burung maka akan dapat meningkatkan jumlah populasi burung murai batu karena semakin banyaknya orang-orang yang menangkar burung murai batu baik untuk pribadi maupun penangkaran untuk dijual. Selain itu dengan adanya kontes burung murai batu, perburuan liar burung murai batu menurun. Masyarakat lebih memilih membeli burung murai batu di tempat penangkaran. Persepsi masyarakat terhadap program konservasi plasma nutfah murai batu (Copsychus malabaricus) dalam kategori tinggi. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari pengetahuan pemelihara terhadap burung murai batu. Dan kemampuan peserta kontes dalam memelihara burung murai batu sehingga layak untuk diikut sertakan dalam kontes burung murai batu.
