Abstract

Empty palm oil bunches is waste obtained by the Palm Oil Factory which is then used as palm oil fertilizer as one way to deal with solid waste in the form of empty palm fruit bunches produced by palm oil mills and also to minimize the use of chemical fertilizers for palm oil, The use of empty palm oil bunches as fertilizer is not only to overcome waste but also to minimize the use of chemical fertilizers. This literature review aims to provide information to companies, governments and related communities regarding the use of empty oil palm fruit bunches as environmentally friendly fertilizer. The results of the literature review show that oil palm empty fruit bunch fertilizer has several beneficial properties, including helping the solubility of nutrient elements needed for plant growth, reducing the risk of being a carrier of pests and plant diseases, and is a fertilizer that is not easily leached by water that penetrates deeply. soil and can be applied in any season.
