Abstract
ABSTRAK
Pemeriksaan tajam penglihatan/visual acuity/VA merupakan langkah pertama dan utama dalam pemeriksaan klinis mata. Pada pemeriksaan VA dibutuhkan instrumen berupa kartu pemeriksaan/chart, okluder, okluder pinhole, dan penlight. Kartu pemeriksaan merupakan instrumen utama dalam pemeriksaan VA yang prinsip kerjanya berdasarkan pada prinsip fisika optik pada pembentukan bayangan di mata. Terdapat banyak jenis kartu pemeriksaan yang dapat digunakan dalam pemeriksaan VA sesuai dengan tujuan pemeriksaan dan kebutuhan. Kartu pemeriksaan yang paling sering digunakan adalah Snellen chart dan ETDRS LogMAR chart. Pemahaman terhadap prinsip kerja dari masing-masing kartu pemeriksaan akan memberikan pemahaman mengenai bagaimana penggunaannya dalam aspek klinis.

ABSTRACT
Visual acuity (VA) examination is the first and primary step in the clinical examination of the eye. VA examination need an examination card/chart, occluder, pinhole occluder, and penlight as instruments. The examination card is the main instrument in the VA examination whose working principle is based on the principles of optical physics in the formation of images in the eye. There are many types of examination cards that can be used in VA examinations according to the purpose of the examination and needs. The most commonly used are the Snellen chart and the ETDRS LogMAR chart. An understanding of the working principle of each examination card will provide an understanding of how it is used in clinical aspects.
