Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis kesalahan serta faktor-faktor penyebab yang dilakukan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal uraian aritmetika sosial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes diagnostik dan wawancara diagnostik. Subjek penelitian ini ialah kelas VII-B SMP Negeri 11 Kota Bengkulu yang berjumlah 29 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan peserta didik berupa kesalahan konsep dengan rata-rata 22,7%, kesalahan interpretasi bahasa dengan rata-rata 29,3%, kesalahan prosedur dengan rata-rata 69%, dan kesalahan berhitung dengan rata-rata 63%, 2) faktor penyebab yang dilakukan peserta didik sehingga melakukan kesalahan pada saat mengerjakan soal tes yang diberikan yaitu, faktor internal sebesar 60% yakni intelegensi, minat, motivasi serta kesehatan, serta faktor eksternal 48% yakni, lingkungan, sarana sekolah, dan keluarga. Guru maupun siswa harus dapat berkolaborasi dalam proses pembelajaran untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran.
