Abstract
Burung Maleo (Macrocephalon maleo) merupakan satwa endemik Sulawesi yang saat ini mengalami penurunan populasi akibat perburuan telur dan degradasi habitat, meskipun berbagai upaya konservasi telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas kebijakan dan strategi konservasi di Kabupaten Tolitoli, mengidentifikasi tantangan, serta merumuskan rekomendasi penguatan pelestarian. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur, observasi, dan wawancara dengan pemangku kepentingan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa eksploitasi telur merupakan ancaman utama, disertai fragmentasi habitat. Di sisi lain, partisipasi masyarakat berkontribusi positif dalam pengawasan dan penghentian perburuan. Namun demikian, keterbatasan dana, sulitnya aksesibilitas, dan kurangnya dukungan pemerintah menghambat efektivitas konservasi. Keberhasilan pelestarian Maleo memerlukan perlindungan habitat, pencegahan eksploitasi telur, serta penguatan kolaborasi lintas sektor berbasis masyarakat.
