Guide for Authors

The AGRITROPICA is an online, multi-media, academic journal that adheres to the highest standards of peer review and engages established and emerging scholars from anywhere in the world. We invite qualified research articles in all aspects of AgribusinessAgro-IndustryCrop SciencesForestry and Environmental SciencesAnimal Husbandry, and Marine Sciences.

  • Authors should prepare the manuscript using the AGRITROPICA template and submit through the online submission system (link). The only manuscript following the AGRITROPICA format will be sent to reviewers.
  • The manuscript should be original and has not been previously published or under review by other journals, either in whole or substantial part.
  • The work conforms to the legal requirements of the country in which it was carried out, including those relating to conservation and welfare, and to the journal’s policy on these matters
  • Authors must ensure the accuracy of citations, quotations, diagrams, tables, and maps. All in-text citations must be cited in the reference list and all sources in the reference list must be cited within the article. Sources accessed online must include a DOI or URL.
  • All submitted paper will be reviewed by experts in the field by considering the originality, clarity of presentation and significance to sciences.
  • As the commitment to fast publication, editors try their best to complete a review process up to 8-12 weeks. If the authors did not receive any notification after that period, please do send an email to editors.
  • AGRITROPICA is an open access journal. However, it is very pleased to inform you (all authors) is requested to pay a publication fee for each article accepted that for each article accepted. Payment of this publication fee will help us to maintain free access to the online full text and DOI maintenance once their articles have been accepted.
  • AGRITROPICA is loyal to open access to academic work. All the original articles and review papers published in this journal are free to access immediately from the date of publication. We don’t charge any fees for any reader to download articles and reviews for their own scholarly use.
  • Benefits of open access for authors include free access for all users worldwide, authors retain copyright to their work increased visibility and readership, rapid publication, and no spatial constraints

Guide for Online Submissions

The author should first register as Author and is offered as a Reviewer through the following address: https://ejournal.unib.ac.id/index.php/jagritropica/user/register The author should fulfil the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, the Author is brought to the online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start, a New Submission section, click on ’ Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:

  1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: The author must check-mark on the submission checklists. An author should type or copy-paste the cover letter to “Comments for the Editor”.
  2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded. 
  3. Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including the marked corresponding author. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
  4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter, and Signed the Statement of Originality Form. Therefore, click on the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.
  5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to  Jurnal AGRITROPICA, click Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. 

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes a status of manuscript review and editorial process. If authors have any problems with the online submission, please contact Editorial Office at the following email: agritropica@unib.ac.id.

  1. As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
    1. The manuscript fits the Aims and Scope of Jurnal AGRITROPICA
    2. The research is original and has not been published previously – Please see “Statement of Originality”
    3. Manuscript is prepared in accordance with author guidelines and template
    4. The text is written in good English
    5. Manuscript text is divided into numbered sections; line and page numbers are added and text is double spaced
    6. An ethical statement is required for experiments involving humans or animals
    7. Conflict of interest statement is included at the end of the manuscript
    8. The number of figures and tables combined does not exceed a total of 6; additional tables and figures can be submitted as supplementary material
    9. All relevant and update references should be provided in the Reference list
    10. Cover letter is prepared, introducing your article and explaining the novelty of the research

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. MANUSCRIPT WRITING GUIDELINES

    As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their manuscript's compliance with all of the following items, and the manuscript may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  2. Manuscripst are written in English, use font type :Time New Roman 12 pct  with format .doc or .docx file (such as from Microsoft Word or Open Office). We do not accept PDF submissions

     

  3. Manuscripts should be formatted with double-spaced lines, single column,  and continuous line numbers throughout the article, including pages for acknowledgements, references, tables and figures.  

  4. Maximum number of page is limited to 18 pages on an A4 paper size.  

  5. Clearly defined manuscript structure as standard: Title, Author details, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Figures and Tables with captions.
  6. Title page should include: a concise and informative title without the authorities for taxonomic names; a list of all authors' names with names and addresses of institutions; the name, address and e-mail address of the correspondence author.

     

  7. Abstract must not exceed 350 words to figure out the conceptual context, methodological approach, main results, and conclusions.

  8. Keywords on the abstract should be written in alphabetical order not exceeding eight words or short phrases.

  9. Introduction should state the reason for doing the work, the nature of the hypothesis or hypotheses under consideration, and should outline the essential background.
  10. Materials and methods describe sufficient details for the work to be repeated include specific equipment and materials, the software has been used, the manufacturer’s details (name, city and country should be given so that readers can trace specifications by contacting the manufacturer). These sections also figure out  work procedures that describe the variables used, how to obtain data systematically collected and analyzed.

  11. Results figure out the research findings that they might be presented in figures and tables.

  12. Figures, including photographs, and tables should be referred to in the article text . All lettering and symbols must be clear and easy to read. Legends should provide enough details for the figure or table to be understood without reference to the main text. Figures and tables should be presented in the manuscript file with their legends and may be either embedded in a relevant position in the main text or placed at the end of the document. Please insert all images as .jpg files with image resolution below 300 DPI.

  13. Discussion should  be focused on answering the subject matter with comparing of the results with the theory or concept findings from other studies used as the primary references. 

  14. Conclusion states answers from research objectives and is not a summary of research results. Suggestions are optional.
  15. Acknowledgments is optional
  16. References states the list of the references that have been used in the manuscript. In text citations should follow the author-date method whereby the author's last name and the year of publication for the source should appear in the text. The complete reference list should appear alphabetically by name at the end of the paper.  Please note that a DOI should be provided for all references where available. Please follow the citation guidelines of the APA   style.
