Penelitian ini merupakan kelanjutan dari penelitian dan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat penulis beserta tim PKM pada bulan Januari - Mei tahun 2023 di lokasi yang sama yaitu Panti Asuhan Darma Jati I Klungkung Bali. Penelitian tersebut membahas tentang bagaimana pengetahuan anak-anak panti asuhan tentang gunung api dan mitigasinya (Maharani, 2023). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa masih kurangnya pengetahuan mereka tentang gunung api dan mitigasinya (Maharani, 2023). Karena alasan tersebut diatas maka penulis beserta tim PKM melaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi menggunakan brosur yang berisi gunung api dan mitigasinya guna memberikan pengetahuan dasar gunung api (Maharani dkk, 2023). Hasil kegiatan PKM menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak panti asuhan cukup memahami tentang bahaya gunung api dan antisipasinya. Pada penelitian lanjutan ini peneliti mencoba membuat komik edukasi gunung api dan mitigasi agar lebih menarik serta dapat mudah dipahami. Komik ini bersumber dari brosur yang pernah dibuat sebelumnya. Komik diberikan kepada anak-anak penghuni panti asuhan tersebut dengan tujuan anak-anak bisa mengambil langkah-langkah yang harus ditempuh sebelum, saat dan sesudah letusan gunung api. Hasil kuesioner akhir penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan pengetahuan dari sebelumnya.
Kata kunci: This research is a continuation of the research and community service activities of the author and the PKM team in January - May 2023 at the same location, namely the Darma Jati I Klungkung Bali Orphanage. This research discusses how orphanage children know about volcanoes and their mitigation (Maharani, 2023). The research results obtained from the questionnaire show that they still lack knowledge about volcanoes and their mitigation (Maharani, 2023). For the reasons mentioned above, the author and the PKM team carried out outreach activities using brochures containing volcanoes and their mitigation in order to provide basic knowledge of volcanoes (Maharani et al, 2023). The results of PKM activities show that the children at the orphanage understand enough about the dangers of volcanoes and their anticipation. In this follow-up research, researchers are trying to create educational comics about volcanoes and mitigation to make them more interesting and easy to understand. This comic comes from a brochure that was made previously. The comic was given to the children living in the orphanage with the aim that the children could take steps to take before, during and after a volcanic eruption. The results of the final research questionnaire showed that there was an increase in knowledge from before.
