Abstrak
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode survey yang bertujuan untuk: (1) jenis gaya belajar peserta didik, (2) tingkat keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik, dan (3) keterampilan komunikasi ditinjau dari gaya belajar peserta didik. Variabel dalam penelitian ini yaitu gaya belajar dan keterampilan komunikasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 29 Bulukumba. Pengambilan sampel yaitu dengan teknik simple random sampling yang merujuk pada pendapat Gay & Diehl (1992) menghasilkan sampel sebanyak 25 peserta didik. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket gaya belajar dan tes keterampilan komunikasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik deskriptif terdapat 4 jenis gaya belajar yaitu gaya belajar visual, auditorial, kinestetik dan visual kinestetik. Keterampilan komunikasi berada pada kategori sedang dengan skor rata rata 9,6. Keterampilan komunikasi ditinjau dari gaya belajar peserta didik yaitu visual kategori sedang, auditorial kategori rendah, kinestetik kategori rendah dan visual kinestetik kategori rendah.
