Perkembangan teknologi dan standarisasi laboratorium veteriner modern telah mengalami transformasi signifikan, terutama dalam digitalisasi, implementasi kecerdasan buatan (AI), sistem manajemen mutu, pendekatan One Health, dan keberlanjutan lingkungan. Transformasi digital melalui AI meningkatkan akurasi diagnostik dan efisiensi operasional, terutama dalam analisis pencitraan dan prediksi penyakit. Standarisasi internasional (ISO/IEC 17025) dan pedoman World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) menjadi fondasi kritis untuk menjamin kualitas layanan. Pendekatan One Health memperkuat kolaborasi lintas sektor dalam menangani penyakit zoonosis dan krisis kesehatan global, seperti peran laboratorium veteriner selama pandemi COVID-19. Tantangan utama meliputi privasi data, biaya, dan etika penggunaan AI, serta kebutuhan integrasi praktik berkelanjutan (misalnya Green Labs) untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan. Ke depan, laboratorium veteriner berpotensi berkembang melalui inovasi diagnostik canggih, kolaborasi kesehatan global, dan komitmen terhadap keberlanjutan ekologis.
