Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian tepung mengkudu terhadap kadar kolesterol telur pada ayam petelur strain RIR. Rancangan acak lengkap digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Ayam petelur umur 72 minggu strain RIR dikelompokkan ke dalam 5 perlakuan sebagai berikut. 1) Ayam petelur diberi pakan mengandung 0% tepung buah mengkudu (P0); 2) Ayam petelur diberi pakan mengandung 0.75% tepung buah mengkudu (P1); 3) Ayam petelur diberi pakan mengandung 1.5% tepung buah mengkudu (P2); 4) Ayam petelur diberi pakan mengandung 2.25% tepung buah mengkudu (P3); dan 5) Ayam petelur diberi pakan mengandung 3% tepung buah mengkudu (P4). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tepung mengkudu berpengaruh secara nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kadar telur kolesterol. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian tepung mengkudu sebanyak 1,5-3% menurunkan kadar kolesterol telur.
